De Lille slams call for removal as Cape Town mayor

Patricia de Lille has hit back in response to calls for her to be removed as mayor of Cape Town.

She says not all members of the DA have been consulted on the matter.
The party's executive in Cape Town has recommended to the DA's top decision-making structure that she be recalled.

But De Lille claims that regional executive has acted alone and without any mandate from the DA.
De Lille has been accused of covering up corruption in her administration - allegations which she's denied.
