Dams supplying water to northern KZN areas are 'overflowing'
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Officials from the Dannhauser Local Municipality say they're relieved that one storm has left their dams in Hattingspruit overflowing.

The northern KZN town, between Newcastle and Dundee, has been under heavy water restrictions due to the severe drought.
The municipality's Mboneni Nene says although the storm left much damage in its wake dams are filled to capacity.
Nene says the dam is full to capacity due to the three hours of ongoing rain.
Lightning also affected around 5000 households during Tuesday's storm, he adds.

Resident Heidemarie Swanepoel says they've been living with water restrictions for too long.
"When I say dry - we had very little water and severe water restrictions. I think the dam levels were at [5%] - that's how low the water was," she said.
