Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi says government is exploring permanent housing
solutions for the victims of the Dakota informal settlement fire in
Isipingo.
She says eventually they want to move residents out of their shacks.
"The land has been identified, it's about 23 kilometres away. Some will be 30 kilometres away and communities have raised concerns in terms of being far from where they are working."

Kubayi visited the informal settlement on Tuesday after a fire gutted some 350 homes on Saturday night.
"We do not think that as much as people are reasonable they do not want to go further away, we should continue to leave them here.
"So as I always say, we have these conversations with the communities, and at some point where they refuse completely to move, we get them to sign indemnity forms, so they understand they are staying by choice."
