DA: Report shows shortage of 200 nurses, 80 doctors in KZN health system

DA in the province is asking KZN Health to reconsider allowing healthcare workers, who're currently outside the system, to assist staff at public hospitals.
The party feels workers who left the healthcare sector for other non-clinical industries, can be useful and help ease the burden on already exhausted and overwhelmed staff.
Health facilities are reaching capacity as the country grapples with the second wave of Covid-19.

New infections in the latest 24 hour period, increased by more than 21 thousand in the country.
The DA's Rishigen Viranna says the report that they received from the health department it indicated that there is a shortage of at least 85 doctors and over 200 nurses in the system as it is.
