DA to nominate Umhlathuze deputy mayor at behest of IFP
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The Democratic Alliance in KZN says it's accepted an invite from the IFP to nominate a candidate for the vacancy of deputy mayor in Umhlathuze.

The party says it's put forward the name of councillor Christo Botha, who will be nominated during a full council sitting next week Thursday.
DA KZN chairperson Dean Macpherson says it's an exciting opportunity which will further cement relations between the two parties.
"We want to be able to provide a strong, stable government in that municipality which encompasses industrial areas of Richards Bay and Empangeni.
"The DA currently chairs the Electricity and Infrastructure Portfolio Committee, so we have a history of working together and getting things done and to be able to show voters that our two parties can work together in their best interest and priorities service delivery."
The DA and the IFP in KZN signed a service delivery pact last month.
