The party has been reacting to the latest quarterly crime stats between July and September.

Among other revelations announced by our police minister yesterday was that during that period aggravated robbery has gone up, along with sexual offences and carjackings while over 6 000 people were killed in the country.

DA's Community Safety in KZN Sharon Hoosen has expressed concern.

"What hope do the people of this province have under the current political leadership which claims to be making the safety of the people of this province a priority?", she said.

"SAPS is a complete mess with no results on their so-called National Safety Plan that's supposed to be implemented. Our people in this province are clearly not taken seriously", Hoosen said.
