The two parties held a joint press conference in Umhlanga on Friday.

They say they've achieved several successes during their year-long unofficial coalition.

IFP provincial chairperson Thami Ntuli says their victory against the ANC in eThekwini's Ward 99 by-election stands out.

"This agreement was a test case for what potential it could be in store for the future of KwaZulu-Natal. The less likely factor that the IFP achieved with the help of the DA gave the people of KwaZulu Natal a visual representation of life after the ANC could look like in the province."

DA KZN leader Francois Rodgers says their collaboration will continue.

"The Democratic Alliance and the Inkatha Freedom Party will again implement this model next Wednesday. on the 13th of December 2023, during an election that will be held in ward 101 in eThekwini.

"The DA again has decided not to fill the candidate, like in ward 99 the DA will support the Inkatha Freedom Party candidate instead. The model of collaboration indeed the voters of KwaZulu-Natal have endorsed, the spirit of corporation that allows a party either than the African National Congress to win."
