DA councillor linked to his family's murder to remain behind bars

A Democratic Alliance councillor in KZN, linked to his family's murder, will spend Christmas behind bars.
Micheal Buthelezi appeared before a Bergville court on Thursday on charges of murder and arson.
He was arrested earlier this week, in connection with the October fire that engulfed his home in Okhahlamba.

His wife and three children lost their lives. He suffered critical injuries and was hospitalised.
"The matter has been remanded to 8 January 2024 for the accused to secure legal representation," says KZN NPA spokesperson Natasha Kara.
