The Democratic Alliance in KZN has roped in private investigators and an independent prosecutor to help investigate the killing of its chief whip in uMngeni Municipality.
Party provincial leader Francois Rodgers says they want justice for councillor Nhlalayenza Ndlovu.
He was shot dead at his home in Midmar View on Tuesday night after opening the door to his killers.
The municipal mayor yesterday announced a R100 000 reward for information that could help police find the culprits.
The DA's provincial leadership visited Ndlovu's family in Howick on Thursday.

Rodgers says Ndlovu's killing was planned.
"There was no argument before these gunmen entered his home and shot him eight times. You don't just arrive at somebody’s door and kill them just because you're having a bad day."
