Cyclone Berguitta: SAA flights to Mauritius resume

South African Airways flights between OR Tambo International Airport and Mauritius are fully operational again.

SAA grounded flights after cyclone Berguitta accompanied by heavy rain and wind speeds of up to 180-km per hour - passed south east of the island.
The national carrier's Tlali Tlali says the decision to temporarily halt operations was a safety precaution for staff and passengers.
"South African Airways took a decision to cancel a number of flights in the last three days. The decision to cancel flights was as a result adverse weather conditions. We have since resumes operations as of today. s as a result of adverse conditions," he says.
