Cuba-based students practice in KZN
Updated | By Nondumiso Zakwe

They are on a break and have been volunteering at local clinics and hospitals in the province for the past six weeks.
MEC Sibongiseni Dhlomo met the 307 students at Addington Hospital earlier before they head back to Cuba.
Dhlomo says the students have been comparing the number of HIV and TB related cases they have dealt with in KZN to those of Cuba.
''There's no TB and HIV in Cuba and yet when they come back to South Africa as doctors they'll be expected to assist and treat patients among them that have TB and HIV.
''This has been a wonderful experience for them to get the exposure. This will come in handy for them when they go back to Cuba and learn about it in their books because they would have seen and been guided on how to treat people with these conditions,'' he said.
