Critically low blood stock in KZN

Currently we are on 1.5 day's cover while we need to be on 5 days to supply all hospitals and blood banks. 

This long weekend the SA National Blood Service is pleading with all donors and potential donors to visit donor centres and mobile clinics. 

The service's Sifiso Khoza says they're hosting a blood drive to commemorate Human Rights Day.

"Anyone who would like to visit our donor centres or mobile clinics can do so as we will be at the Gateway shopping mall, Phoenix Plaza, Newlands shopping centre, Pavilion shopping mall as well as Isipingo. In Pietermaritzburg we will be at the Liberty Mall", he said.

"On Monday we will be at the North beach promenade. It is every South Africans right to have safe blood", Khoza said.
