#CrimeStats: Inanda Saps records most murders in KZN
Inanda Saps, north of Durban recorded the most murders in the province over the past financial year.
Police released the 2018/2019 crime statistics this morning.
The Umlazi, Plessislaer, KwaMashu E, Mariannhill and KwaDabeka police stations also featured in the country's top 30 stations when it comes to reported murders.
Some 209 murders were recorded at the station during this period, an increase of 3 percent (or six cases) when compared to 2017/2018.

Nyanga Saps in the Western Cape is the murder capital of the country, with 289 murders reported. But, this figure is down 6.2 percent when compared to the previous year.The Umlazi, Plessislaer, KwaMashu E, Mariannhill and KwaDabeka police stations also featured in the country's top 30 stations when it comes to reported murders.
Umlazi recorded 180 murders in 2018/2019 - a drop of 19.3 percent (or 43 fewer murders).

Inanda Saps also recorded the highest number of rapes last year - with 338 attacks reported. This is a massive 21.6 percent (or 60 reported rapes) increase compared to last year.
