The Wentworth Crime Prevention Forum says crimes against motorists appear to be on the increase in areas, south of Durban.

A resident, who was travelling on the M4 towards Clairwood on Tuesday morning, says she's still shaken after her car was hit in a rock-throwing incident.

"I heard a very loud bang, it was as loud as a gunshot and then I heard a crackling sound. I went into shock and panic mood. I didn't know what was going on, so I drove to the nearest petrol station.

"I was afraid for my life because I just thinking that driver's seat and got me I could have died."

The CPF there's urging motorists, especially those on the Bluff and in Wentworth, to be extra-vigilant and not to stop if they feel they're being targeted by criminals.
