Crime stats shows KZN's reported rapes highest in country

The latest quarterly crime statistics have been released. Police Minister, Bheki Cele reveals that 5107 people were murdered in South Africa.
339 fewer people were killed compared to the same period last year.
Cele says arguments were one of the leading causes of murders.
The crime figures he's released today cover the period from the 1st of July to the end of September.
He says while rape was down 18.8% these three months when we were in lockdown levels 3 and 2 was a dangerous time for women in South Africa.

8922 cases of rape were reported at this time.
"A sample of 5168 rape dockets revealed that 3578 persons were raped in their homes or at the homes of the perpetrators," he said.
KZN recorded the highest number of reported rapes than any other province.
