WATCH: Covid inspires KZN’s top matriculant to study medicine
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
The country's joint top achiever, who hails from KZN, says studying for her matric exams during the Covid-19 pandemic helped her decide what to study at university.

Husnaa Haffejee, who attended Al-Falaah College in Durban, and Kelly Prowse from the Western Cape emerged as the joint top matric students in the country.
Seventeen-year-old Haffejee says she wants to study medicine.
”Covid even disrupted everyone’s lives, we couldn’t go to school, people couldn’t go to the walkways. So I think that inspired me to want to try and become someone who can fix these problems for people.”
Haffajee spoke to Newswatch at the Bethsaida Ministries International Church in Southgate on Friday, where KZN's top achievers were honoured by the provincial government.
