COVID-19 postpones judgement in Miguel Louw murder case

The family of murdered Sydenham boy, Miguel Louw, says they are praying for justice, with his murder case nearing conclusion.

Judgement against the man accused of the child's murder, Mohammed Ebrahim, was set to be handed down in the Durban High Court on Monday morning.

Louw's family was told that because of the COVID-19 outbreak, the trial wouldn't be going ahead today. 


Ebrahim is accused of kidnapping the boy from outside his school in 2018.His body was found two months later in Phoenix - a short distance away from Ebrahim's home. 


Miguel's aunt, Tasneem Dos Santos says the family's just commemorated Louw's two-year death anniversary. 


"Obviously it's frustrating, but we can understand due to the delay of COVID-19. 


"We can just say at the end of all of this, there will be justice," says Dos Santos.
