COVID-19: More than 500 000 cases now in SA
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The country's confirmed Coronavirus cases have just passed half a million.

Our official recorded count as of today stands at 503 290. Our death tally from the virus is at 8 153.
What is more worrying is that we have yet to hit our peak infection period as a country.
This means we now account for roughly half of all cases on the continent.
This also makes us the country with the fifth highest number of COVID-19 cases behind US, Brazil, India and Russia.
Gauteng leads with 178 119 cases followed by Western Cape with 96 189 cases and KZN with 79 607 confirmed cases.
