COVID-19: KZN Health has rollout plan developed

KZN Health says it has already developed a COVID-19 vaccine rollout plan for the province and that process will be guided by the national department.
Provinces are expected to start receiving the coronavirus jab during phase one in the first week of February.
KwaZulu Natal's health portfolio committee sat for a virtual meeting yesterday.
Department head, Dr Sandile Tshabalala says they have a committee that is part of the vaccine rollout plan and different districts have been prepared.

"Among the preparation is the training of vaccinators also the training of the pharmaceutical staff so that we ensure how we handle the vaccines we are sure that it does not expire in our hands."
Meanwhile, the SA Health Products Regulatory Authority will today on the latest updates regarding Ivermectin.
Some South African doctors and groups have been calling for the anti-parasite drug to be greenlighted as a treatment for COVID-19.
Health agencies have said recently that there isn't enough evidence to promote the drug as a remedy for coronavirus.
SAHPRA yesterday urged the medical fraternity to conduct more research, saying for now, human consumption of the drug, in the country, remains illegal.
