COVID-19 infections continue to surge in KZN

COVID-19 infections continue to rise with KZN recording another sharp increase in new cases.
In KwaZulu-Natal, there's been 4138 new cases reported in the last 24-hour cycle, taking the total number of active infections to 89 203 in the province.
Meanwhile, the Health Department reported 21 606 new infections across the country last night.
There's also been 399 new coronavirus related deaths.
"Regrettably, we report 399 more Covid-19 related deaths: Eastern Cape 85, Free State 11, Gauteng 69, Kwa-Zulu Natal 96, Limpopo 5, Mpumalanga 15, Northern Cape 12 and Western Cape 106," Health Minister Dr. Zweli Mkhize said.
This brings the total deaths to 32 824.
Recoveries now stand at 956 712, representing a recovery rate of 78,9%
