COVID-19: Dischem ready for phase 2 vaccine rollout
Updated | By Nothando Mkhize
Retail pharmacy giant, Dischem, says it aims to inoculate over 500 people per covid-19 vaccinate site once it's receive the Pfizer jabs for Phase 2.

This after it announced that it has secured 11 vaccination centres across South Africa. The mass vaccination programme will kickstart on the 24th of May.
What the company is emphasising is that everyone still needs to ensure that they register on government’s Electronic Vaccination Data System.
Dischem's Lizeth Kruger explains how this will work.
"The Pfizer vaccine consists of two shots so after they get the first shot they will then be registered to get a reminder for the second shot. This is part of phase 2 or 1B which is focused on healthcare workers so we will be doing them as well as the over 60 patients", she said.
Kruger says patients won't be required to pay for the jab.
"It will not be out of pocket as either the medical aid will cover it or the Department of Health will cover it for state patients", Kruger said.
