COVID-19: Almost 430 SA healthcare workers killed by virus

Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize says close to 430 healthcare workers have lost their lives to COVID-19 in South Africa.
Mkhize made the remarks at an awards ceremony hosted by the KwaZulu-Natal Doctors Healthcare Coalition last night. The institute is hosting it's 24th Annual conference & Expo on a virtual platform this weekend.
The minister was presented with an award last night for his contribution to the fight against the virus which he dedicated to the country's healthcare workers. Mkhize thanked healthcare workers and paid tribute to those who lost their lives to the respiratory disease.
He says 36 000 health workers have tested positive adding that in SA close to 430 have lost their lives.
Mkhize says healthcare workers are the unsung heroes of the struggle against an unseen enemy.
