Courts shouldn't interfere in politics: Zikalala

The ANC in KZN has signed a memorandum with a response deadline of 14 days which has been handed over to court officials.

Hundreds of party members who say they want the courts to stop interfering in political decisions marched to the Durban High Court.

This after a high court ruling recently ordered President Jacob Zuma to reveal the reasons for his controversial cabinet reshuffle. 

The ANC's Sihle Zikalala's explained some of their demands.

"There is developing trend where political parties debate issues in the National Assembly and fail to win those issues and take those issues to court. The court in turn entertains those issues while the political party's concerns would have not exhausted procedures stipulated in the Constitution," he said.

Meanwhile, provincial spokesperson Mdumiseni Ntuli says the ruling can't go unchallenged - saying the country should be run by democratically elected leaders.
