Court hears second Meyiwa docket ‘has no merit’

It
was another morning of legal twists and turns in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial
in the High Court in Pretoria.
Defence advocate Zandile Mshololo, who represents accused number five, told the court on Monday morning there is no merit to the second docket.
The docket, which emerged on Wednesday, names Meyiwa’s then-girlfriend Kelly Khumalo as the person who pulled the trigger.
"The alleged document does not have any status as such. It was an internal opinion from a junior state advocate which was without merit,” Mshololo told the court.

She then read a letter from the NPA in court which states that the indictment, which implicates Khumalo and others, was a draft internal opinion.
Meyiwa was shot and killed at the home of Khumalo's mother in Vosloorus in Gauteng in 2014.
