The matter was postponed on Monday after the Durban High Court heard that a gunshot was fired through the bedroom window of a key witness over the weekend.
The witness was meant to testify on Monday.
State Prosecutor Ashika Lucken told the court on Wednesday that the Hawks still needed to meet with various senior police officials in the province as they continue with the risk assessment.

Lucken said they will then meet with the State.
It's after other witnesses came forward following the shooting incident, saying they fear for their safety.
The court heard once the assessment is complete, measures will be taken to alleviate the safety concerns of the witnesses.
The trial is expected to resume on Monday.
Meanwhile, KZN police have confirmed they're investigating a case of attempted murder.
