Sergent Thabo Mosia will continue to give evidence on Monday as the first state witness in the former Bafana Bafana captain's murder trial.

Mosia said he was one of the first officers to arrive at the Vosloorus property on the night of that fateful shooting in 2014.

He told the court that officers collected evidence via wet and dry swabs from the bedroom and toilet door handles.

Cans of alcohol were found inside the house.

"When we arrived the crime scene was cordoned off with tape and then we conducted a walkthrough of the crime scene. I then protected and secured visible evidence found on the kitchen floor which was a bullet jacket, a hat and a walking stick. I processed the scene for photography and forensic investigation."

Five men accused of killing Meyiwa have pleaded not guilty.

The Department Correctional Services also responded to accusations from accused number three that he was physically harmed.

It said these are not true.

Mthobisi Mncube claimed an official had assaulted him after he returned to prison from court two weeks ago.

He was transferred to another correctional facility before the trial.

The judge ordered Mncube's representatives to take the matter up with the department.

Prosecutor George Baloyi told the court an investigation is underway.

"He's reported allegations of assault by a correctional official who escorted him to court upon his arrival back from court. This originally happened at Pretoria High Court.

"He was seen by a doctor on April 22 in order to examine the allegations of assault. The doctor's report shows no visible injuries.'
