Tharina Human, Laeticia Nel, and Pieter van Zyl were in court for a second day on Friday to apply for bail.

Human and Nel have allegedly confessed to the plotting and execution of the kidnapping outside Laerskool Kollegepark last month and subsequently demanding an R2 million ransom.

Their legal representative's readout similar affidavits in court, where the two were requesting to be transferred from Johannesburg Prison to a police holding cell in Vanderbijlpark.

According to the pair, when they got back to their holding cell on Thursday, they were detained with 70 other inmates who terrorised and intimidated them overnight after hearing what happened in court.

They told Magistrate Hussien Khota they feared for their lives.

The state opposed the application, stating it wouldn't make sense to transfer them as most police holding cells are full and there is no guarantee they will be safe at another police station, as the case is all over the news.

Khota dismissed the application, he said the court cannot rule on the matter because it's not aware of any police station with space for the accused and there will likely be less security for them.

The case was postponed to October 1 when the accused are expected to make an argument for why they should be granted bail.
