Updated | By Sandile Bhengu
The Council for
Geoscience says it will be conducting an analysis into Sunday morning's
earthquake in Gauteng.
The tremor shook parts of the province in the early morning hours and was felt as far as Pretoria and the West Rand.
Its epicentre was in Boksburg on the East Rand.
The council's acting executive manager Willem Meintjes says they'll include the experiences submitted by the public in their analysis.

"This will allow us to understand better this occurrence of seismicity in South Africa and it's something that has been going on for some time.
"Every time there's a new seismic event that really helps us to interrogate our work and to add to that scientific body of knowledge and expand on our understanding of seismicity."
