Cottonlands scrap collector kidnapped, beaten to death
Police in Verulam are investigating the murder of a man allegedly beaten to death by a mob in the Cottonlands area.
It's alleged that the man was taken from his house on Monday night by unknown men who assaulted him throughout the night.

According to KZN SAPS, the man was brought back and dumped outside his house the following day in critical condition.
Reaction Unit SA paramedics were called to the scene by the family, but he was declared dead on arrival.
"When paramedics got to the scene, they found that the man that succumbed to his injuries sustained bodily, head and facial injuries and several broken bones," says spokesperson Prem Balram.

"When reaction officers interviewed his family, his brother confirmed that 20 men had kidnapped his brother. The man was identified as a 39-year-old scrap mental collector that lived in the same areas and was collecting scrap in the same vicinity when he was kidnapped."
