COSATU welcomes paid parental leave
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
Trade union federation COSATU has applauded the implementation of a new law which will see workers remunerated for parental leave.

As of Wednesday, all parents are entitled to 10-days paid leave when their children are born.
The new law, however, does not apply to mothers who have given birth, because they are entitled to maternity leave but includes fathers and mothers of children born through surrogacy.
COSATU's Parliamentary co-ordinator, Matthew Parks says employers should embrace the progressive spirit of the law.
