Cosatu takes to Durban's streets over fuel price hikes
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Hundreds of workers have made their way through the Durban CBD in a demonstration fuelled by recent price hikes at the pumps.
They want government to do something - and fast.
Frustration was a full capacity while patience was slowly approaching over the recent fuel price increases in the country.
Following a recently rumoured national shutdown which did not materialise Cosatu in KZN on Friday took the streets over high fuel prices, poverty, cost of living and unemployment, among others.

The trade union federation had requested that KZN premier Sihle Zikalala be present to accept its memorandum. However, that was not the case as the premier is currently set to be attending a children's parliament in Umkhanyakude.
Instead, Transport MEC Peggy Nkonyeni accepted the memorandum on behalf of the premier.
Traffic around the CBD was backlogged in what has been an event-free demonstration and one that goes ahead of Cosatu's national mobilisation, who had said it is still engaging government along with the like of Santaco.
