COSATU stages protest against e-tolls on the N3

COSATU has descended on the Mariannhill Toll Plaza in Durban to protest against e-tolls.
KZN secretary of the trade union federation Edwin Mkhize says their main worry is the introduction of the Shesha Lane at that plaza as well as others around the country.
He says the lane which is used exclusively by those who have e-tags has taken jobs away from deserving South Africans.
"Firstly we want to see these Shesha Lanes being rid of. We are also going to be engaging with our government on the prices of the Tollgate to say we cannot really impose such a burden to our people," he said.
Some vehicles driving through the toll plaza hooted in support of the protest as they passed through.
