Cosatu rejects possible introduction of Covid vaccine passports
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
The Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) has rejected the idea of a Covid-19 vaccine passport for South Africans.

The Office of the Presidency said this week that vaccine IDs are under consideration, adding that these would allow government to open up more activities for people to enjoy, like spectators in stadiums.
But the health minister says they're still mulling over the issue and how this would restrict freedom of movement.
Overseas, thousands of people in France have held regular protests and marches against the pass system.
Cosatu's Sizwe Pamla says health choices are personal and there cannot be discrimination against unvaccinated people.
"Government needs to do the real work of selling vaccines to people instead of looking for shortcuts. This is going to erode human rights.
"The ID system or the pass system will be used to discriminate against people and as a country, we adopted a constitution that makes it very clear that discriminating against individuals is unacceptable."
