Cosatu questions arrests in KZN political killings
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Cosatu in KZN says the commission that's been set up to look into the underlying causes of political violence is simply not going work.
Speaking at trade union Nehawu's 30th anniversary celebration in Pietermaritzburg yesterday, Cosatu Provincial Secretary Edwin Mkhize said the lack of arrests in most of the political killings in KZN was a problem.
He's suggested police can do better in finding those behind the murders.

"What's going to work is take those people who are killing our progress and leaders and put them behind bars. Close the gates and throw away the keys. Why are people not arrested - it's a question we must ask Cosatu," he says.
At least five councillors have been killed in separate incidents across the province since 2011 in what is believed to be politically motivated murders.
The Moerane Commission of Inquiry, has been established to investigate the killings.
