Cosatu bars Zuma from addressing members

President Jacob will no longer be allowed to speak at Cosatu events. 

With respect of the mandate from the workers and in line with our special resolution, President Zuma is no longer welcome to address Cosatu activities," he said.

The decision came out of the trade union federation's Central Executive Committee meeting.

It also comes after a Cosatu May Day rally in Bloemfontein was called off after Zuma - who was the keynote speaker - was booed. 

Cosatu's Bheki Ntshalintshali..Ntshalintshali says they remain an ally of the ANC.

"We want to see an ANC that will not only rediscover it's mass character but will use its organisational mass power to assert a people-driven and people-centred development instead of using this to fight internal factional battles to get people elected to positions of power," he said.
