Cop shot and killed in Botha's Hill

An investigation is underway into the killing of a police officer in Durban.
The cop was shot dead on Patna Road in Botha's Hill on Monday night.
The motive is not known at this stage.
Netcare 911 spokesperson, Shawn Herbst said: "His firearm had not been taken from him, so no one can say if it was a robbery. That will have to be determined by police investigators."

"Reports indicate that an adult male police official had been gunned down while walking to his car. According to members of the public on scene the man had visited a friend when the incident occurred."
"The patient who was found unresponsive on the floor was assessed by medics and found to have sustained fatal injuries and sadly declared deceased on the scene. Circumstances leading up to the shooting will be investigated by the relevant authorities."
