Cop killed after stopping assault, suspects arrested

Two suspects who've been linked to the murder of a police official have been arrested.

The pair - aged between 18 and 25 - are accused of killing Sergeant Nduduzo Sibiya in Cornubia, north of Durban over the weekend.
The 36-year-old cop was stationed at the Durban Harbour.
KZN Hawks spokesperson, Simphiwe Mhlongo, says the duo was nabbed in Bergville.
They've been charged with murder and robbery. "It is alleged that the sergeant assisted a woman who was being assaulted."
"As a result, they followed him and stabbed him. they also took his firearm and fled the scene. at this stage, members are still continuing with the investigation, finalising everything before they appear."
The suspects are expected to appear in the Verulam Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.
