Cop in court for murder of pregnant partner

A KwaZulu-Natal police officer accused of killing his pregnant girlfriend will be in the dock on Monday.

The 48-year-old man, who is based at Ixopo Police Station, was arrested over the weekend by investigators from the Independent Police Investigative Directorate.
Exactly a week ago, 35-year-old Busisiwe Ngubo was found strangled to death near her home in eHlanzeni, west of Umkomaas.

Ngubo was carrying triplets and had been due to give birth soon.
It's believed the woman had left her home with the suspect, the evening before her body was found.
The suspect's also facing drug-related charges after he was found in possession of dagga.
