Construction worker killed in N3 crash
KwaZulu-Natal Emergency Services's Robert McKenzie says the two had been working on a section of the road when the accident happened.
''The one man has passed away while the other sustained critical injuries and has been transported to hospital for continued medical care.
''The exact circumstances resulting in the collision are not known and will be investigated by police,'' he said.
Meanwhile, a 35-year-old man is receiving treatment in hospital following an alleged hit-and-run incident on the M4 near Merewent south of Durban.
It is believed the truck driver had stopped in the emergency lane to reload cargo that had fallen off the vehicle.
Reports from the scene suggest he was then struck by a second truck that allegedly did not stop at the scene.
ER24 paramedics says the man sustained critical injuries.
