Renowned SA conservationist dies in helicopter crash

Well-known conservationist, Benjamin Osmers, has died in a helicopter crash in Limpopo.
According to ER24, Osmers died while another man was injured when the helicopter crashed close to the Kgapane Village near Tzaneen.
On arrival at the scene, paramedics found the helicopter on a dry river bed.
"A man who was critically injured was found lying a few meters away from the helicopter. He was treated and transported to hospital for further medical care. The exact cause of the incident is unknown," paramedics said.
Police confirmed the identity of the deceased, saying he was a well-known conservationist in the area.
"According to our information the two men were counting game when their helicopter encountered engine problems," police spokesperson Ronel Otto said.
The cause of the accident is being investigated.
