Condolences pour for family of Marc Batchelor
Updated | By Portia Cele
Kaizer Chiefs has sent a message of support to the family of its slain former striker, Marc Batchelor. The 49-year-old was shot dead near his Bryanston home - last night.
Police say several shots were fired through his car window.
Batchelor played for a number of local clubs, including Mamelodi Sundowns and Moroka Swallows. He then went on to become a sports commentator.
Kaizer Chiefs' spokesperson, Vina Maphosa says they're still in disbelief.
"We are at a state of shock - at this stage that he is gone. He will never be forgotten. He made a contributing to Kaizer Chiefs. The chairman of the club has expressed his deepest condolences to the family. We are really shocked and lost for words," Maphosa said.

Meanwhile in a statement, the Orlando Pirates says Batch was in a league of his own during his decade-long career.
