Concourt orders Zuma to repay portion of Nkandla money
Updated | By Khatija Nxedlana
The Constitutional Court has found that President Jacob Zuma's failure to implement the findings of the Public Protector on the non-security features at his private home in Nkandla was in violation of his constitutional duties.
"An order will thus be made that the president's failure to comply with the remedial action taken against him by the Public Protector is inconsistent with his obligations to uphold, defend and respect the Constitution as the supreme law of the Republic to comply with the remedial action taken by the Public Protector and the duty to assist the Office of the Public Protector so as to ensure its independence, impartiality, dignity and effectiveness," he said.

Delivering his Judgement, Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng ordered that National Treasury determine the reasonable costs of the non-security measures at Nkandla which include the visitors centre, amphitheatre, cattle kraal, chicken run and swimming pool.
He also ordered that Treasury determine the money that should personally be paid back by Zuma.
