Concerns over possible second wave of unrest in KZN

With fears growing over a possible second wave of unrest in KwaZulu-Natal, the local police commissioner's appealed to communities to desist from engaging in violent behaviour.

ANC deputy secretary-general Jessie Duarte says that those who orchestrated the riots in KZN and Gauteng are still hard at work. 


She says they've received a message about a possible second round of violence.

KZN police commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi addressed the threats during a visit to Lamontville this past weekend.


"Its always a concern if the community is going to be influenced by some politicians who wants to put their political interest and their mobilise communities to go and gather and course disruption be it road blockages, coming to evaluate the Covid-19 regulation in terms of the numbers that are going to gather and you realize that many people who could have given the support to the former president while sitting at home."
