"If our commuters continue with assaulting drivers and staff, Prasa won't have a choice. The innocent people will suffer now," the agency's Zama Nomnganga said.

Nomnganga says they were made aware of three incidents yesterday involving two female drivers and a metro guard.

In the first incident, the driver said she feared for her life when commuters - whose train had been running late - hijacked her train at Duff Road Station.

One driver says she feared for her life when commuters hijacked the train at Duff Road Station. They were angry because it'd had arrived late.

The metro guard was also threatened when a train didn't arrive on time.

At the Durban Station, commuters threatened another female train driver over the same issue - she was locked in her cabin.

Nomnganga says they've launched an investigation and ensure those responsible are found.
