Cold week ahead for KZN

The SA Weather Service says the effects of the cold front that hit the country last week will be felt in KZN from today.
The service’s Wisani Maluleke says temperatures along coastal areas will be reaching 18, and 19 degrees.
Durban is expected to reach a high of 18 degrees today while the mercury in Pietermaritzburg and Richards Bay is set to climb to 16 and 20 degrees respectively.

"We are experiencing very cold temperatures mainly over the Western high ground of the province which include areas around Giant's Castle, Ladysmith and Underberg where temperatures are sitting below 12 degrees," Maluleke says.

In Underberg and Kokstad last night, temperatures plunged to -3. Maluleke says a light dusting of snow is also expected in some parts.
"There will be light snow especially over the high peaks of the Drakensberg but it's not going to be disruptive snow," he says.
