Cold front: KZN disaster management teams on high alert
Updated | By Puseletso Petersen
As parts of the country brace for a chilling cold front in KwaZulu-Natal, government officials say disaster management teams have been activated.
They will remain on high alert for the next five days.
"We would like to assure the public that our disaster management teams are on standby to respond to any disaster that may emanate from the inclement weather that is expected up until the weekend."
Weather forecasters say temperatures are set to plunge tomorrow as the cold front ushers in heavy rain especially in the southern region.
They have issued several warnings for the province - saying snow is expected over KZN's south-western parts.

High seas and gale force winds are due along the coast as well.
Msawakhe Mayisela has urged people especially motorists to be extra careful.
"We would like to call upon the public to exercise caution especially on the roads. The roads are going to be wet and we need to exercise caution," he said.
Meanwhile, Cape Town is already feeling the cold - it's set to reach a maximum of 13 degrees today.
