Cogta urges KZN municipalities to appoint senior officials
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs in KwaZulu-Natal has urged municipalities to fill senior posts.

It says if this is not done, instability and poor service delivery could follow.
In a statement released yesterday, the department says it has noted that the contracts of many municipal managers and senior staff will expire soon.
Spokesperson, Lennox Mabaso says a contract extension was only granted for a year.
"Every senior official that gets appointed now is appointed on a five-year contract. The contract ends a year after the new administration has taken over to allow a smooth transition, and to facilitate a handover, from one administration to the next," he said.
