Cogta gives uThukela District R2mil disaster response vehicle

The uThukela District has received a disaster response vehicle valued at more than 2 million rand.

Cooperative Governance MEC, Sipho Hlomuka says the state-of-the-art fire truck will assist communities in emergencies.
Four people died in the District recently, when their taxi - was swept off a flooded low-lying bridge.
Hlomuka says the municipality received the vehicle yesterday.

"The fire and rescue truck will assist the whole uThukela residents. As much as we handing it over to the district, all local firefighter will be supported and we have requested that they ensure they take care of this vehicle because it's going to assist them."
