Updated | By Jacaranda fm
Theo Jackson and Willem Oosthuizen, who were handed prison sentences of 11 and 14 years respectively for assaulting Victor Mlotshwa and forcing him into a coffin, have been released on parole.
The assault was caught on a video that went viral in 2016.
Jackson and Oosthuizen started serving their sentences in 2017.
The Department of Correctional Services says the two were released as part of the COVID-19 parole programme.

The programme is meant to ease overcrowding in prisons.
"The offenders were released into the system of community corrections, they will continue to serve their full sentences on parole and subject to placement conditions that must be applied to until their sentences have expired," says the department's Logan Maistry.
Maistry says their parole conditions include the monitoring of their whereabouts.
