Coastal TVET College to come out of administration

The Coastal TVET College in Durban is preparing to come out of administration.
Higher Education Minister Blade Nzimande says they have agreed, with the college administrator, to move forward with a plan to appoint a permanent principal.
The college was placed under administration in 2020 after facing a string of corruption allegations and a damning report by the auditor general.
The department's Ishmael Mnisi says the institution will be brought out of administration at the end of the month.

"An acting principal will be appointed as from next month whilst finalising the appointment of a permanent principal, a process that is at an advanced stage.
"Minister has noted several concerns that have been raised by stakeholders on the state of functionality of the college.
"All these matters will be addressed as we move the college towards the appointment of permanent senior management."
